In Jewish eschatology, the term Mashiach, or "Messiah", refers specifically to a future king from the Davidic line that has not come to earth yet. In Native American tradition, anyone with a pure soul can become the messiah of the world. Within the Japanese anime community, the term messiah is used interchangeably with a savior or sovereign (i.e., Sailor Moon was the Messiah as was Mistress 9, the Messiah of Silence). This series in no way is to demean or diminish the term "messiah" in the Christian definition of the word.

When I came up with the concept of Kenny, I based him on a few things: his temperament is basically a shadow of mine but everything else came from my writing class in 2008. We were told to develop a character and a screenplay around the concept of murder. I created MADE 4 U (previously known as Unisex the Town). I had made Kenny a hopeless romantic, alcoholic and depressed. {No lie, look it up here: Made 4 U Screenplay.} He hates being called Kenneth. He loves F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and Living Single.

But when I couldn't go past a certain point in writing a crime thriller, I gutted the idea of Made 4 U. Revamped everyone. And then sat and thought about my strengths. On came the magic.

Literally.

Having the main ingredient be magic/supernatural abilities opened up a writing flood gate. I couldn't stop with the ideas of where to take Kenny. And how to incorporate him into the lives of everyday people. But I knew I didn't want to create anything based off one religion or one belief. Thus, I used all. I created Hell. 7 of them, one is completely frozen over, with a dragon as its ruler. Nothing like Dante's. Another hell is nothing but a long, dead bridge. Kenny starts at the fire and brimstone one (book 2). Kenny goes to the center of the earth, but its broken up to sectors that houses dinosaurs and nymphs (the magma runs as rivers and the core is a plot point for Book 3). There is a Heaven. And there were 7 of them, but 6 were destroyed and consumed with the 1st Holder of the Chaos Soul Seed. Big catastrophe. Now all the celestial beings reside on Nirvana.

I also created a story line of how humans (Sapiens) came to be, why the Divine no longer walk the earth, and Vampires. These were the Neanderthals. And I call them Vampyres. Kenny befriends the former King in one of the Hells (Book 2, btw). They all lived together for a while on Pangaea.

Then came the reason for why Kenny even exists. Why would people even want to read him.

He's imperfect. He doubts himself. He suffers from health issues. But he never gives up on love, friendship, brotherhood or family. He has compassion even on his maddest days. In Judaism, the messiah can be anybody. So, when I created the concept of the Soul Seeds (souls of the Divine instilled into one trusted individual), I made sure the Messiah had the strongest, blessed and cursed [having usurped six cores from the heavens cant be a good thing], soul seed. Of course, there's a villain who wants it. Why wouldn't there be? The other Hosts (Love, Intelligence, Nature, Darkness) had one mission; protect and prepare the world for the Chaos Soul Host. These Hosts need Protectors. The Protectors call them Custody's. Its a militant society for them.

Kenny balances them out. He's new to this, where everyone has had numerous lives until his birth. He has to train and study while practicing restraint of his powers. Particles of his magic can be absorbed in the other realms. Remember the villain? Speaking of magic, we have a Queen of Magic. But she sold her soul for power. Did I mention she was the Host of Love? She's in Book 1! This explains why the world is low on love and magic. Well, we have witches, both male and female. We have an Antichrist. We have a dragon of the sea...but not on earth, we have gargoyles on Nirvana, Kenny meets Aries in Purgatory (or what I call the Junction Nexus).

And Lucifer makes an appearance. The fallen angel. He's still an angel. Still fallen. Held captive and powerless by our villain. All of these beings heard of Kenny's arrival and what they would bring to every corner of the Realms.

Now if I had to choose an actor to play Kenny, I would say Elliot Knight. He exhumes the physical aspect of who Kenny is and he is a great actor in my opinion. But, who knows. The casting agency may go with someone else.
